From speaking at Reflect Festival to press coverage, here’s what Fountech has been up to this week…

By Soffos Team
May 10, 2019

This week has been a busy one here at Fountech HQ. Having recently welcomed Chloe Chira to the team as our new AI System Developer, Fountech has continued developing exciting and innovative AI toolsets for clients around the world. What’s more, our CEO Nikolas Kairinos has been offering his expert views on the current state of the AI market, discussing some of the challenges facing the artificial intelligence industry and how we can overcome them.

How will AI revolutionise education

But let’s start with Reflect Festival – the largest future-casting event held between Southern Europe and the Middle East, offering a forum for experts to explain just how AI is disrupting specific industries. As part of Reflect Festival 2019, Nikolas Kairinos and Fountech’s Lead AI Architect, Petros Mina, were invited to speak on the topic of education.

Providing insight into the limitations of current teaching methods in imparting new knowledge to groups of students, Nikolas and Petros explained how AI can be applied to deliver a hyper-personalised style of teaching with lessons and content tailored to the individual needs of each student. The level of engagement and interest from Nikolas and Petros’ talk at the festival was extremely positive, reaffirming just how important AI will be in educating future generations.

If you’re interested in finding out more about education and AI, be sure to have a look at one of Fountech’s current client – Soffos. The company is harnessing the unbounded power of AI, and we’re helping them build an independent platform to connect potential and existing learners with teachers, mentors, and resource providers on a global scale.

Addressing gender inequality in AI

Following the release of AI NowInstitute’s report into diversity in the AI industry (we wrote about this in more detail in a blog last month), our CEO Nikolas Kairinos has been busy speaking to the press about what organisations can do to ensure more females are encouraged to purse long-term careers in AI and tech. Having penned exclusive features for the likes of Information Management, Prolific London and HRD Connect, one of the key points Nick emphasises is the need for AI companies to place women in visibleC-level positions and establishing mentorship programmes so that young female professionals are trained and positioned to become leaders in the field.

There is still plenty of work to be done to address the gender inequality crisis, and importantly, Fountech has heeded the call. Over the coming months, we will be implementing a number of new initiatives directly targeted at those young female graduates seeking to launch a career in AI.
